In a futuristic Berlin where the Cold War never ended, you are stuck to pick up the pieces as some kind of hitman. In All Walls Must Fall, you have no choice other than to follow instructions and follow them closely. Your handler is a very mysterious person who likes to keep things as secretive as possible. What you’re fighting for doesn’t seem to truly matter; you have a task at hand and must get it done at any cost. Sometimes, this cost could very well be your own life.

Upon launching the game, I was pleasantly surprised by the electro dubstep which seems to be the game’s typical music choice, as the levels seem to play mostly in clubs. No blasting of the ears this time, yay! The game itself, in my opinion, offers quite a lot of customization towards the sounds and graphics, even offering you to choose the cadence at which the music loops, which is pretty awesome. The graphics in general are pretty neat and clean, at least until you get caught in a fight and find out that the environment is mostly destructible, which is really neat in this type of shooter game that kind of reminds me of the Shadowrun series but with a twist of its own. The story itself is pretty interesting and impressive the more you get into it, especially considering that the game will change each time you start it, adding even more mystery to the mix! According to how you play the game (if you prefer talking over fighting and vice-versa), the mission will play based on how you will react; if you kill people, you will be hunted and will have to fend for yourself. If you try to talk your way into things, you will gain allies and probably get a different outcome than while fighting! Also, as you progress in the game, the difficulty of the mission will progress, which means that the game will evolve with you. Pretty cool, huh?

Honestly, after all this, there’s not much to say other than, if you mess up during a level, it doesn’t automatically reset it for you. You have to open up the menu and then go through the full cutscene. That can be very tedious if you don’t have that much time to play. Personally, I’m not really a big fan of the kill replays, and maybe I’m not the only one, so why not offer a way to skip through them for us to keep playing? Just a suggestion! The last thing about this game that weirded me out (I know it’s still in early access so this is more helpful for you developers than a bad point) is that upon entering the third level, it appeared that the inside of the building was lacking either artwork or it got bugged out pretty badly! (It’s the bomb level if that helps any.)

Overall, I’d say this game is pretty good and definitely deserves attention. I didn’t know I enjoyed these kinds of RPGs so this was a very good surprise for me. It can prove hectic on the strategy side, which I am lacking a little, but, once you get the hang of it, it flows pretty good and you just keep wanting to play it!
